It is the season to be jolly! For us, this means it is also the season of craft shows, bazaars, home shows … and we have been loving it.
For MI’s Treasures it is also the first year that we get to go through a whole season of craftiness (you may remember that we’re very young, and our blog is just about to become 1 year old!). For months we have been preparing by researching, dreaming of new items, gathering new materials, polishing our presentation and actually working. We believe that the end-result is great and that next year will also be phenomenal (but who are we to say, anyway).
When you meet with us you’ll get to see a variety of items in different colors, shapes and textures that share our common underlying theme of uniqueness and elegance. We love every chance to show you our creations and love your feedback, which brings us back to the title of this post: we love doing shows! Shows, whatever their nature, are a chance to meet with you and share. You are a basic component of our trade and you’ve been kind to us. Your comments are positive, encouraging, energizing and sweet – this is the fuel that we need to go on! We love it when you touch our pieces, try our necklaces and bracelets on, and when you are altogether undecided about which piece is your favorite – all with a smile on your face. Further, we love it even more when you come back for seconds and thirds

We made this piece upon request for a friend that wanted a “statement necklace” for a wedding, looking to complement her outfit. We believe it became a success.
The color selection matched the owner’s taste: copper and blue glass with a shiny, sophisticated flare. The twirling strands add elegance and interest, making the piece unique and wearable. Each beaded strand is woven in Kumihimo. The piece is finished with “antiqued-copper” cones, chain and closure. The elongated chain permits wearing the piece at shorter or longer lengths, depending on what works best with the outfit.

We adore this combination showcasing a fantastic silver plated accent bead, with ridges in all the right places.
This necklace is unique and elegant with a sophisticated twist. One side of the necklace is beaded in Kumihimo using white glass beads and white cord, the opposite side is beaded in Kumihimo using black glass beads and cord. Both sides meet at the focal bead, suggesting an interesting twist. It will be up to you to decide which side goes on the right! This fantastic piece has to be one of our new favorites. We’ve combined transparent light blue, copper and clear glass beads over white Chinese knotting cord in Kumihimo for a beautiful, light cord. The cord is complemented by a spectacular murano glass medallion in blue and green with a copper accent. The combination is delicate and sophisticated, while remaining fresh and a little bohemian.

We love the combination of orange and metallic. The Kumihimo braiding is strong enough to support the fabulous accents and unique flower pendant. This necklace has a sophisticated bohemian feel finished beautifully by all the carvings and shapes of the metallic accents.

We are loving these long Kumihimo necklaces that are so versatile and interesting!
We’ve again used a resin peony flower, this time in mandarin, as an accent to this fantastic necklace! The flower is laid over an “antiqued” silver filigree connector. The necklace measures 34″ long and is made of metallic gold-colored and silver-colored matte glass beads which were carefully braided in Kumihimo (for those of you who ask – yes, one bead at a time!). The color combination looks fantastic on the skin and can dress up an outfit in a second. We also like to wear these with our most informal clothes for a “girly” effect that is understated and elegant.

We adore this combination of fuchsia/rainbow matte and green/blue beads in Kumihimo, which we have accented with four fantastic large resin beads in aqua and completed with a silver plated chain. This necklace is sure to make a refreshing statement for the most sophisticated owner. The colors are so vibrant, fresh and elegant … so appropriate for summer, or for brightening up an outfit for any season. My 9 yr. old goddaughter commented that it looks like the necklace is smiling – I say that so long as it makes you smile when you wear it then, why not? One thing is certain though, the durable Kumihimo braid adds interest. All finishes and accents are silver plated.

Since we are featuring bracelets this week, we wanted to show you a customized piece. This bracelet was made to order for the owner of this necklace, because she wanted something to match. We like it so much that we think it deserves to stand on its own. The texture is sturdy while flexible, so it’s really comfortable to wear. The burgundy multicolor and frosted glass beads are combined in Kumihimo, and completed with silver-plated finishes. Perfect!
